There's actually springs inside this mattress. It has a soft plush top. It's super convenient. You open the box, you let it rise for about 48 hours, and then it comes up to the super nice mattress. I personally am one that does not like a memory foam one. And this is great because we were able to have the convenience of a bed in the box, but have it be something that we preferred for comfort wise. So if that is something you're looking for, I think you'll love it. It's been great for our family, but that's just my point of view.
