Hi, my name is Katie with WTI. If you are looking to homeschool your student and you want them doing more than just memorizing facts, then I really recommend you check out this Do It Yourself homeschooling book on the United States. It helps get your child involved with history, social studies, and geography, and it's all self-guided learning. I really liked this book because my daughter was able to go to the library and find books on the different states, the national parks, and even use the internet in order to answer the questions that are in this book. They get to be artistic by drawing the state seal or even designing their own stamp for each state, and then they get to have fun too by maybe watching a movie that takes place in a certain state or in a certain national park or reading a novel that takes place in a certain state. So they really immerse themselves in the culture of that area. I like it because it's not just memorizing facts and it's a really creative way to learn. My daughter really enjoyed this book and I think that your child will too. It's great for a variety of ages, not just a specific grade. All they need to do is be able to read and write and do a little bit of research. I really think you should check this out and that's my point of view.
