Clamp it on and here's the vent that I need for the microwave that's closed and that's open. And you can see the vent with the little sign for the steam to come out. Pop my cup into the microwave, heat it up. All right. So now I'm ready to go with my soup. All right. So my soup is ready for me to eat. As you can see, the lid kept the soup from splattering all over my microwave. All I have to do is pop it off and it's really hot and enjoy a nice cup of soup. It's really good and hot. I love this product. I highly recommend it. And that's my point of view.
