It really helps with reducing eye strain and gives the proper amount of color rendering that you need. And if you want to turn the light on and off for the clock all you got to do is press the little sun button and that'll either light it up or turn it off. And the height is totally adjustable depending on how much shade you really want when you have the LED light on. And it's also great to fold right down so you get easier portability. It has a button cell battery or you could simply plug it in to charge it up.
