Hi there, this is Alex with WTI and this is the Cricut Maker Knife Blade and Housing. This is quite an impressive tool. I know it looks small but it can do a lot. What I liked about it is that it can cut materials as thick as 2mm of tooling leather, 3 32 inches thick of balsa wood and 2mm thick of chipboard which gives you lots of new projects that you could make on the Cricut Maker. I like to work with leather so I find that sometimes it's a little hard to cut with a rotary cutter or precision knife. But I'm going to show you how easy it is to cut on the Cricut Maker. Because the material is thick it takes a number of passes to cut all the way through. So it takes a bit longer than let's say if you were just cutting through vinyl. I'm making a utility keychain out of 2mm tooling leather. So this is not the finished product but as you can see it's taking shape and just so you see look how thick that leather is. So I have to add the hardware still and I'm going to finish off the edges and that will be my utility keychain. I also just wanted to show you quickly that I made this little bookmark out of balsa wood. It did not take long at all and look how tiny and intricate the cuts were. That's about as small as you can cut on the balsa wood. But again it's quite thick the pieces as well so I'll just put some coating on that to protect it and maybe give it away as a little gift. The knife blade opens up a lot of more crafting projects to make and I feel like it's a key element to have if you're going to be using the Cricut Maker. And that's my point of view.
