Our Point of View on Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Books

Hey, this is Kristi with WTI and I wanted to talk to you about a book that is really special to our family. This is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. It's by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault and both of my boys love this book. So my oldest is nine and my youngest is five. So my nine-year-old's kind of outgrown it. My five-year-old's really into it now, but this has been read to both of them various times. It actually helped my oldest identify his letters when he was little. So it's a story about the letters of the alphabet climbing up a tree and then they fall down and hurt themselves. But as we read, it will talk about the letters like we said D to E F G and I'll have the kids point to the letters as they're reading. And the other thing I always loved is that in the back, they have this page of the alphabet. So after we finished reading every single time, they would say they're ABCs. My youngest just did this the other night. He said it's ABCs and he pointed to all the letters at the end. So it was a really fun way to educate my kids on the alphabet without them knowing they were learning. It just made it really fun. My five-year-old, we just read this last night and we read it twice. I've read this so much. I have it memorized. It was so dear to my oldest that multiple times when we were in the car, if he was crying, I would recite this book and it would calm him down. I mean, amazing. Books are amazing. This has been a very dear one to my heart because both of my kids have loved it. So great way to educate your kids. So totally would recommend it. That's my point of view.
