I'm Diana with WTI. Have you ever wondered about life in the 1800s? Well, this book is going to take you there. This is By the Shores of Silver Lake by Laura Ingalls Wilder. It's book number five in the set and it takes place in the Dakota territory of the United States in the 1800s. So the Ingalls family is leaving Plum Creek and they're on a journey to a new land where there's work and they're just about starting life in a new territory and how much is involved in that. You also get to see life through Laura's eyes. So as a 12 year old girl, her first time on a train helping her mother and her sister who has gone blind. It is a beautiful story about family, hard work and life and it's so educational. I'm reading it with my 11 year old daughter and we are just loving it. Just to give you an example of how the book looks. There are the odd black and white pictures throughout as well as you've got your clear chapter and it's really nice big print. So it's easy to read for adult and children alike. So it's a great story. I think you're going to love it and that's By the Pregate View.
