Hi, I'm Kayla with WTI. This is an awesome book called The Cool Bean by Jory John and Pete Oswald. Now I just absolutely love this book. You follow around this little garbanzo bean as he is admiring the cool beans. As you can see, the cool beans look cool. So as our friend, the garbanzo bean is talking about how cool they are and how he feels like he would never fit in with them, the story changes and really shows him what being cool really means. But here is where the really nice part comes in. It's the actions of the cool beans and how kind they are and helpful they are when our friend, the garbanzo bean gets hurt or is having some trouble that really makes them cool. My favorite part of the story, of course, is the realization of our friend, the garbanzo bean that being cool isn't about your style or how you look, but it's about how you treat other people and what you do when people are in need. It really helps encourage the children to be cool in a kind way. And I just love the moral of this story. We love the cool bean in our library. We also love the other books in this series, specifically The Smart Cookie and The Good Egg. They all have really good morals to the story and help the child to kind of view themselves in a different light as well. So I highly recommend adding this to your library, but that's just my point of view.
