Planning a trip to Glow Wild at the Fort Wayne Zoo? I’ve got all the details on what to expect and some must-know tips to make your visit extra special!

Buy Your Tickets Online

First things first—save money by purchasing your tickets online before you go!

Warm Up at the Peacock Café

Right when you walk in, you’ll find the Peacock Café, where they serve hot drinks to keep you cozy. I highly recommend their cider—it was delicious!

Pro Tip: The zoo allows traveler cups, so feel free to bring your own coffee or hot chocolate!

Kid-Friendly & Accessible Fun

One thing I love about the Fort Wayne Zoo is how family-friendly it is. Even before the sun sets, there’s plenty to do!

Arrive Early? Head to Australian Adventure First!

If you get there while it’s still light out, make a beeline for the Australian Adventure (to the left after entering).

Take a Ride on the Z Train!

- Free rides were available when we went!

- Go under a bridge—make animal noises and get loud!

- Watch out for dinosaurs along the way (yes, the zoo has them!).

Don’t Miss Stingray Bay & The Reef!

- Pet the stingrays at Stingray Bay.

- Check out the Reef Exhibit for stunning fish and sharks.

(This was my favorite part of the zoo—so glad it was open during Glow Wild!)

Once It Gets Dark… Head to African Journey!

As the sun sets, hustle over to the African Journey (on the opposite side of the park).

Why It’s a Must-See:

- Thousands of dazzling lights and animal displays.

- Fun activities like dance parties, selfie spots, and talking parrots!

- Even though live animals may not be out, the light-up displays are incredible!

Tip: Bundle Up!

It got chilly at night, so dress warm and check the weather before you go. (Dancing helps keep you warm too! 💃) You'll be doing lots of walking, so be sure to wear good quality running shoes and a backpack.

Last Stop: Asia & the Bamboo Forest

After the African Journey, loop back to Central Zoo and take a right toward Asia.

- Walk through the bamboo forest with giant pandas & red pandas.

- Let the kids try the Sky Trail ($10/person)—we had no lines on a Tuesday night!

- Grab a late-night snack if you’re hungry.
