They help to keep your makeup on all day and it takes away any shine that you might have on your face. This one I use is called Soap and Glory. It's one heck of a blot. It's a face primer that you can wear either under your makeup or alone without any makeup on and it really helps to smooth out your skin. I was skeptical at first, but when I started using it, it really does everything it says it's going to do. Any fine lines it fills in, the pores it fills in. I typically do wear it under my makeup. I wear a powder foundation, but I've even worn a liquid one and it works the same underneath it. It doesn't have any odor to it. It goes on pretty thick when you take it out. It's pretty thick, but then it rubs in. You leave it on for a couple minutes before you apply your makeup. Let it set in place and then you put your makeup on and it stays all day. It's a great, great face primer. I highly recommend it. Soap and Glory, one heck of a blot. However, that is my point of view.
