Echo (4th Gen)

Hey guys, it's Kate with WTI and I wanted to tell you about my buddy here, the Echo Dot. So this one is the version with the clock. I can't say enough good things about this. If you are new to the whole Echo lineup, this is a really nice place to start because it is very simple and user friendly. There's only a few little buttons here, your volume button and if you want to listen to you or not. Very, very simple. Obviously it has the time which is nice. But if you are not new to the lineup and you just want to expand, this is why we purchased these. We have them in nearly every room of the house and it's just a nice little addition to my office space right here so I can listen to music. If you have any streaming device, you can connect her to those. So let me show you. I will be using her name throughout this so if you have any echos in your house, maybe turn the volume down. You can also purchase separate smart bulbs and all kinds of things, plug-ins for your outlets so that you can use her to activate all of those things. So for example, my son has a smart bulb in his room so when he tells her to turn on his light, his light goes on and off. I have one in my office that changes color. I can tell her what color I'd like it to turn on. So really, really smart device to be able to activate all your things. I know they do thermostats and all kinds of stuff so you have lots of options. It's also fantastic when you have guests so if you're wondering how to entertain them, this little baby will help you out. So there's all kinds of built-in games. So there's Escape the Room. There's Guess the Song where they play the song and you have to guess the singer and the song name. One that we love is Akinator so she actually reads your mind. She'll tell you with a series of yes or no questions which actor or character you're thinking of. So that's a lot of fun. So all kinds of things you can do. She will tell you the weather. So if you happen to have maybe a parent who is not as tech savvy but they kind of want to stay connected, this is a really nice option because it's easy to use. They can find out the weather. They can listen to music. All of the little basic things in one little sleek, nice, round package. We also have ours connected to our Amazon account so when we get a package delivery, this little guy will alert us as well. It makes a fantastic gift. It's very affordable. In fact when we have people come over and they really love them, we often give one away because it's really easy to repurchase and it's just a nice way to make someone happy. By the way if you happen to have a daughter with that name, you can change the word that she listens to so don't worry about that if that happens to be somebody in your family. So I highly recommend this as a gift or to expand your own collection to start your own collection and that's my point of view.
