Transcript
Hey, it's Gina with WTI. Are you tired of burping lids and dealing with mold when you're fermenting your vegetables? How about trying to remember when you started your ferment? Well, these amazing lids from Brillenti have solved all of those problems. They have an airlock valve. So what that does is it allows carbon dioxide and oxygen to be pushed out of your ferment. Now I wanted to taste my ferment to see where it was at in its process and once I did that I realized it needed a few more days. So I put the lid back on, didn't over tighten it, and then I use this pump that comes with the set. So that draws the oxygen out from you having opened the lid and you only need a few pumps. I chose to use a brine with mine. I did one tablespoon of salt with a quart of water and I made sure that my vegetables are fully submerged and then I put weights on the top. Having them fully submerged is definitely key to making sure that you get a good non-moldy ferment. Once my carrots reached the ferment that I wanted, I stuck them straight in the fridge. You don't have to even change these lids out for something else. No more excuses about why you can't ferment vegetables. These lids just make it so easy. You're gonna love them and that's my point of view.
