There's no irritation when you're using this sponge and I love that I can clean it very, very easily using the included soap and that little scrubby pad. It really cleans the brush really well. I really like the silicone scrubber and the makeup cleanser and I would use it for my makeup brushes as well. So if you're looking for the ultimate Beautyblender makeup sponge kit, then go with this one. This is the original. They know what they're doing and I love that they've included everything in one convenient little bag and that's my point of view.
