Transcript
Hey, I'm Nicole with WTI, and I am here to talk to you about the Arc of a Scythe paperback box set. This series is by one of my all-time favorite authors, Neil Shusterman, and contains all three books in the series, Scythe, Thunderhead, and The Toll. Now, this trilogy takes place in a future where the world has been taken over by a benevolent and actually lovely AI persona called The Thunderhead. The Thunderhead has completely destroyed death by natural causes, but so that the earth doesn't overpopulate, the Thunderhead has appointed these guys, the scythes, to distribute death in a just, fair, and compassionate manner. If that sounds like a contradiction, that's kind of the point of these series, is exploring the implications and themes of morality and justice in a very fun and suspenseful young adult dystopian lens. This series was my absolute favorite read from 2021, and I don't think you'll regret it if you read it. That's my point of view.
