Transcript
I'm Ben with WTI and I have a great book for you and your child to read. This is On the Banks of Plum Creek by Laura Ingalls Wilder. It is book number four in the series, but it is also a standalone book that you can read as you learn about life in the 1800s in the American Midwest through the eyes of about nine-year-old Laura and her family, Laura Ingalls. It's an interesting tale of life back then, how much work was involved, how things like a winter storm or a blizzard could completely devastate a family or grasshoppers invading the crops. It's such an interesting tale of life back then and it's going to be enjoyable for both you as a parent and your young one. And just to give you an idea of the text itself, as you can see, big print, super easy to read. It also has the occasional black and white picture just to give you that visual. So it's kind of a great transition book for the picture books maybe to chapter books for you and your child. So this is a lovely story that I think you're going to love and that's my point with you.
