I honestly feel comforted to have this around. There are four different ways that you can charge this. It has a strong solar panel, a place for AAA batteries, a charging port, and of course the easy to work hand crank. My son and I had a lot of fun checking out all the different things this radio can do. Of course my son loved using the hand crank and the flashlights and I was impressed by how well it charged my iPad and how quick it charged up using the hand crank and the solar panel. This is small and it's lightweight so it will fit easily in a backpack and it comes in different colors and styles so that you can pick exactly what works for you and your family. We were able to hear the weather stations loud and clear as well as AM and FM radio. This emergency radio has three different charging ports on the bottom so you can charge pretty much all of your devices using this which is especially helpful when there's no power.
