Something Wonderful Book

Hey there, I'm Sarah with WTI. Are you a fan of the classic Broadway hits of Oklahoma or The Sound of Music? Well then you're not alone because those are the results of the collaboration between Rodgers and Hammerstein. Something Wonderful, this book by Todd Purdom, gives you an inside look into those two men and their relationship. I enjoyed this book because I appreciated understanding more about the creative process behind the music and songs that I've come to know and love. Music from the King and I, music from South Pacific and Carousel. You get to understand their personalities a little bit more. Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, they wrote dozens of Broadway shows separate, but together they pioneered a new art form, the serious musical play. So if you're interested in learning more about Rodgers and Hammerstein and getting to know a little bit about the creative process behind those famous musicals that you probably know all the words to the songs, then I highly recommend giving this book a try. I found it to be very interesting and I walked away with a deeper understanding of these two men and their creative process. And that is my point of view.
