So you're not wasting labels by feeding them through that first time. And if you need to for any reason get rid of that first label, clicking the button on top, you can remove that. I love that it has a little signal to let you know if there's ever any kind of printing backup or if you need to add in more labels. It is a USB connection so you can plug this straight into your laptop, but you can also buy an adapter. And by buying an adapter, you can actually use your phone, tablet, any other kind of device that you might need to print from. This thing has just been incredible for my small business. If you have a small business yourself, I highly recommend getting this label maker and that is my point of view.
