Transcript
Hi there, it's Lisa from WTI and today I'm going to talk to you about a great product. It's from a company called Palmini and it is a pasta substitute. And they use a vegetable called Hearts of Palm, that's why it's called Palmini, and they make linguine out of it. They also make penne, which I love as well. It's a really healthy alternative to pasta and it's the same concept of taking a spiralizer and zucchini and making the zucchini pasta. I find that I like this a little better than the zucchini pasta because I find that zucchini cooks down and becomes mushy really quickly. So there's just like three steps they show in the back. And oh, by the way, best part, four grams of carbs per serving. It's pure Hearts of Palm, they're not mixing with anything else. So it's a really healthy product. So you open the can and you want to rinse it for about a minute or two. That just gets some of the bite taste out of it. And then you're going to boil it and I like to boil it in the sauce or finish cooking in the sauce for the last five minutes. So the taste, it doesn't have much of a taste. It's a little bit of an artichokey taste, if anything. That's the best I can compare it to. But it's very very mild and it's very delicious. It does have more, the texture is more firm than zucchini by far. It's like an al dente pasta. So it tastes delicious. I like the fact that it has a little firmness to it. I don't like it when zucchini gets mushed up. And it is just low carbs, no wheat, and it's a fantastic alternative to pasta. So I can't recommend it enough. Again, it is pomini. And they have a couple of different types of pasta. Off the top, I do know it's linguini and penne. So I hope you try it. I really like it. And that's my point of view.
