It has all of the functions a normal sewing machine has. Just make sure you thread it properly so that it is going to work its best. You have the top thread and the bottom bobbin. It has a little storage compartment on the side and a outlet for the foot pedal and the power source. It has up to 12 different stitch options, control over tension, and a bobbin threader. And it comes with all of the essentials. My favorite function is of course the reverse. It's so easy to switch into different stitch styles. You can see all of the variety of stitching that it offers. Once you turn this machine on you're definitely going to hear its quality and power. I was really impressed with the quality of stitching and the pulling of the fabric. I like focusing on little projects. This is a business card holder that I had with fabric left over and this did just such a great job of it. This machine is great for beginners, experience, and can fit anywhere in a tiny apartment. But that's just my point of view.
