I prefer to use it as a backpack so I don't put too much weight on one shoulder. My favorite feature is the shoe compartments that keep my shoes separate from everything else in my bag and it just makes my shoes easy to access. I am a massage therapy student and I also love to use this compartment for storing my massage sheets at school and keeping them clean and separate from my textbooks and supplies. You can easily stick a yoga mat through the top and I just know that I'm gonna have it for years past school which is perfect for me when I become a practitioner and also to continue to use as a gym bag. I'm also excited to use it to go camping and hiking. It's just perfect for travel and I just really enjoy how comfortably it sits on my back. The back and shoulder pads are well padded and comfortable and they just don't dig in when I have a lot of weight on my back. If you're a student or a frequent traveler or an outdoors person this is perfect for you and of course perfect for the gym. So now you know try it for yourself and that is my point of view.
