Turn it on and the laser will go in different directions and have your cat chasing it. It also has some realistic sounds coming from it that will drive your cat crazy. You can also turn the sounds off. Just long press on the speed button until the three flashing lights and you know the sound is off. Let's go check it out in the dark. It's a sporadic or an irregular rotation so that keeps it for a kitten or a cat to chase more naturally. And it's also rechargeable, ideal to be able to plug it in, give it a little charge and it's ready to go again. Yes, this is for cats but it was a ton of fun while my kids were trying to get the cats to engage. The best part about it is this feather. This has been the favorite of our cats to keep them interacting with. It is on a suction cup so you can take it off. So a little added benefit to have it more lifelike. So if you would like something fun for your little guy, get him a little laser cat toy. Fun for the whole family but especially for the cats. That's my point of view.
