Transcript
Hey, I'm Nicole with WTI. Let me tell you about Thunderhead, which is the second book in Neil Shuskerman's Ark of a Scythe trilogy. So of course, the title Thunderhead refers to the benevolent AI that has taken control of the Earth. This is actually a good thing, and it's even managed to eliminate death for natural causes. But, so that the Earth doesn't overpopulate that Thunderhead has appointed these sinister beings, called scythes, to glean or kill randomly selected people with justice and compassion. But not all of the scythes are upholding those values. And one of the main characters, Rowan, decides to go on his own as a sort of vigilante to punish the scythes who aren't being just and fair. Then we also have Citra, who was just newly appointed as a scythe, but someone's trying to kill her, and she doesn't know who. So that's a mystery that's going to get solved kind of towards the end of the book. It's very suspenseful. Of course, this book also introduces a new main character, Grayson Tolliver, who is very, very close personal friends with the Thunderhead. He's devoted his whole life to serving this benevolent AI, and the Thunderhead chooses Grayson for a very special, very hard and dangerous mission in its surface. It all wraps up so beautifully with an action-packed ending that will leave you wanting to read the third book. You will need to order the whole trilogy so you can just read them one after the other immediately, or you will go crazy waiting like I did. And that's my point of view.
